My God is my ‘Great Shepherd.’ In Psalm 23, He identifies Himself as a shepherd who shows His loving care for His sheep, that is us. A shepherd would consistently take care of his sheep because they are incapable of taking care themselves. He will not only guide his flock to where food can be found but as well as protecting them from any dangers. God is like a Shepherd, who always presence with us to protect us from any dangers in life. God will also provides for what we needed to survive. Therefore as God’s sheep, we needed God the more. However, sad to say, that many at times we rejected God. Only when pressures and demands of life comes, we will recognize how self-insufficient we are actually. God exist! and we needed God to take care of us from the moment of our birth to death.

Indeed an AMEN to that….you are right….when you wrote that God will also provide for what we need to survive….to many and us included, many a times we feel that God “is not there for us” is because we want God to provide what we want! When the going is good we forget about God or take Him for granted…when we are in desperate or in troubled times, we “run” to Him and the beauty is ? He is ever so gracious and ever so loving ……..maaaammaaaaaaaa (sheeps!)
Yeah, totally agree with you. There are plenty of descriptions for God,different ppl might have different view. Yet, I believe that most would agree with u. Good use of quote from bible to support ur statements. Good job and keep it up yea^_^
Before Ps23, David mentioned about the existence of our God(Ps19). & of all the created beings, the Maker of the universe chose to live in us. That is indeed a mind-blowing fact.
So yeah, God does exist. & out of the many names of God, He is indeed our Jehovah Rohi...

I totally agree with you! When we look around us... we can truly see God's Presence, and experience His goodness. One cannot deny the existence of God - if there is not God, the world would be in a chaos.

God is always there for us, only we human rejects Him. We treat Him as ATM machine - as & when we require of Him! Sad but true. But He is always there when we seek Him because He is a not only a God of second chance but third, fourth or how many chances we want as long as we seek Him.
I agree with you Kath, I find that it is very true we need God not only as our Shepherd but also our Deliverer, Proctector, and Guide. And as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us ... so we will be a step closer to Him.

Yes, Kath! Indeed God is our Shepherd with the nature of a Father that loves us dearly, guides and leads us to the right path, provides to our needs...who cares for us, who knows what we're going thru and knows the best who we are!!!If God doesn't exists, we, His sheeps will be lost and lives are aimless on this earth!!! Thank God that He exists!!!!

I really like what you've done with your blog.
Meanwhile, your description of God as a Shepherd is very nice, but means nothing to those of us who have never reared a sheep. Perhaps it is much too personal a description.
Without the illustration of God as our Shepherd as we as His sheep, we can really feel the tangible touch of God. Indeed this help us to visualise ourselves as the sheep and God who is our shepherd.
If God is the good Shepherd, we can see that He left the 99 shepherd to find the one lost sheep. But what about the 99 he left?
How does that paint Him as the Good Shepherd?

psalm23 cannot prove the existence of God..it's just a psalm of David..anyone can write a song about their god and say it's true..Buddhist have their own "psalm" too...so what they sing about their god is also true?
Christians like to describe their religion like the perfect religion..
there are many christians we pray oh so earnestly and sincerely and god still seem to be very far..it's not a want, it's a need but situation still stays the same.
does that mean god doesnt love that person?

your God is very peotical and mystical one. have you heard of Jonnathan Edwards sermon on 'Sinners under the hands of an angry God.' Have ever you not read the bible that God strike a man dead for just trying to prevent the Ark from touching the ground.There is a need to understand that God is God; and we are just mere man. do read the whole bible a couple of times and you will find that one will tremble in fear of who God really is. Don't play play ehhh.
